The past couple of weeks, our Lake Trout fishing has slowed. The
Salmon fishing has been steady with 7 to 10 bites, and 3 to 7 fish per
trip. We took a 19lb King Friday, July 11th.
Our fish have been
deep. Temp has been between 100 and 130 ft down. The King fisher fly
combinations are working well. Yellow, blue and orange spoons are
picking up fish.
I’ve been hooking some large fish that usually
run out about 500 ft of line and get off. Usually one or two of these
hook up per trip. I’ve landed 3 of the last 8 hook ups. All three of
the fish were over 16lbs.
Also, with all of the flooding in
Manistee and areas of Central Michigan, plus with a large dose of
Southwest winds we have all kinds of trees, logs, and branches
floating around near Glen Arbor and Leland. I trolled into a pile of
floating debris last week. Please be careful especially running at
twilight.
Good Fishing

Friends, The Watta Bite Charter
Fishing Reports are written by me, Captain Bill. They
are all accounts of my fishing experiences. I will not
use information from other fishermen. I have to know
what's going on before I write, that way you, the customer or
potential customer, have facts to work with when choosing a
charter. -- Captain Bill |
